Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi si sente “overwhelmed with love” dopo aver annunciato la sua diagnosi di cancro.
L’ex star di Jersey Shore ha annunciato venerdì su TikTok che le era stato diagnosticato un cancro cervicale allo stadio I.
La 38enne è tornata sui social media domenica per ringraziare i suoi fan per il loro affetto e sostegno.
“So overwhelmed with all the love you guys have given me (crying emoji) appreciate you!! Now go book ya exams!” ha scritto su Instagram insieme ad un selfie con il suo cane.
Ha anche condiviso un nuovo video TikTok in cui ha creato un cuore con le mani, ha lanciato baci e ha detto con la bocca: “I love you.”
“Seeing all the love you guys have shown me means THE WORLD to me,” ha sottotitolato il post. “Thanks for being my besties 4ever (sic),” aggiungendo emoji che piangono, amano il cuore e pregano.
Nel suo video originale di venerdì, Snooki ha incoraggiato i suoi follower a sottoporsi a un Pap test annuale, noto anche come screening cervicale, quando ha contratto la malattia. “so early”.
“That’s why I’m literally telling you guys to get your Pap smears done. I’m 38 years old. I’ve been struggling with abnormal Pap smears for like, three, four years now,” ha detto. “And now look at me, and instead of just, like, putting it off because I didn’t want to go, and it hurt and I was scared, no, I just went and did it, (and) cancer’s in there, and it’s only stage I and it’s curable.”
Snooki ha spiegato di essersi già sottoposta a una colposcopia dopo aver ricevuto risultati anomali dello striscio e una biopsia del cono per rimuovere un pezzo di tessuto dalla cervice per confermare la sua diagnosi.
Ha condiviso che aveva programmato una scansione PET per vedere se il cancro si fosse diffuso e che probabilmente avrebbe optato per un’isterectomia, una procedura per rimuovere l’utero, dopo.
“The oncologist said you can either do chemo, radiation or the hysterectomy,” ha continuato. “Obviously, I think the smart choice here is the hysterectomy. I’ll still keep my ovaries, which is a good sign, but (I) got to get the cervix and the uterus out and then possibly lymph nodes, because it can (spread there). So I guess it all depends on the PET scan.”
