Jamie Lee Curtis è in lutto per il suo ex fidanzato Robert Carradine.
Poco dopo che la famiglia di Carradine ha confermato la sua morte, la star di Halloween ha ripensato al modo in cui si sono incontrati e ai ricordi che hanno condiviso.
“I woke up to the news that Robert Carradine died,” Jamie ha scritto ieri su Instagram.
“I met him live on television on the Dinah Shore Show. Bobby and I came on last, and Bobby rearranged where we were all sitting so that he could sit next to me, and he kissed me, live on television.”
Curtis ha continuato spiegando nel dettaglio come la loro relazione è sbocciata da lì, incluso l’incontro con la figlia di Robert, Ever Carradine, che ha condiviso con l’ex Susan Snyder, in ospedale quando lei aveva tre anni.
“Ever, now a talented actress, had suffered a terrible burn from hot water and was in the burn unit,” ha ricordato la star di Un pesce chiamato Wanda, “and I met her for the first time there, this little girl wrapped in gauze with the biggest smile on her face and the most beautiful eyes.”
Più tardi, i due andarono a vivere insieme, e Jamie ricordava con affetto di aver vissuto in una casa “dirt-floored house in Laurel Canyon”.
“We became a little family,” l’alunno del Freaky Friday ha scritto del loro tempo trascorso sulle colline di Hollywood, “and it was my first experience with domesticity and motherhood and partnership.”
Curtis ha anche ripensato a un ricordo che risalta quando pensa a Carradine.
“Bobby was a race car driver, and he drove fast and furious in a Corvette on Mulholland,” ha scritto. “It’s a miracle we weren’t killed. One day, I remember the sun hitting his face, and me turning and looking at him and saying, ‘Wait, were you in the movie The Cowboys? Were you Slim?’ He was my first crush in the movies, and I didn’t realise it.”
“We remained friends after we broke up,” ha concluso. “The long and winding road. Rest in speed and humour and love, Bobby.”
