Paris Jackson ha corretto Colman Domingo dopo aver affermato che lo è “very much in support” del prossimo film biografico su Michael Jackson.
All’inizio di questa settimana, l’attore candidato all’Oscar, che interpreta il patriarca della famiglia Joe Jackson in Michael, ha detto a People che i figli maggiori del defunto Re del Pop, Paris e Prince, erano favorevoli al progetto e che avrebbe “chatted briefly” con Parigi a riguardo.
La 27enne ha prontamente risposto alle affermazioni nelle sue storie su Instagram, insistendo sul fatto che non ha nulla a che fare con il film.
Taggando l’attore, ha scritto, “Don’t be telling people I was ‘helpful’ on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird.”
In un post successivo, Paris ha rivelato quando il suo coinvolgimento con il film di Antoine Fuqua si è concluso.
“I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest/didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it I moved on with my life (sic),” ha chiarito. “Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and God speed.”
L’attrice/cantante ha preso ulteriormente le distanze dal film biografico nei video successivi, rivelando che lei “butted out” del progetto dopo aver respinto le inesattezze e “sugar-coating” nella sceneggiatura.
“There’s a lot of inaccuracy and a lot of just full-blown lies and at the end of the day, that doesn’t really fly with me. I don’t like dishonesty. I spoke up, I wasn’t heard, I f**ked off. That’s it,” ha affermato.
“A big reason why I haven’t said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are gonna be happy with it. The film panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they’re gonna be happy with it.”
Per quanto riguarda Colman, Paris ha insistito sul fatto di aver incontrato l’attore solo due volte e che le loro interazioni lo erano “hella brief”.
Il cugino di Paris, Jaafar Jackson, interpreta Michael nel film biografico insieme ad artisti del calibro di Nia Long e Miles Teller.
Il film, che ha una data di uscita provvisoria nell’aprile 2026, potrebbe essere diviso in due parti.
