Charlie Sheen ha confrontato la morte del commentatore conservatore Charlie Kirk con l’assassinio del presidente John F Kennedy del 1963.
“I think, for this generation, that’s their JFK moment,” La star di due uomini e mezzo ha aperto durante un’apparizione su Piers Morgan senza censura.
“If that’s where we’ve wound up, it cannot be where we stay. It’s too surreal to process it, the unfairness of it. We can’t keep having days like that moving forward.”
Quando Morgan chiese della sua prima reazione alla morte di Kirk, Sheen condivideva che inizialmente pensava al dolore che la famiglia della star dei social media doveva aver affrontato.
“I first thought about his fatherless children, his wife instantly a widow,” L’attore ha detto.
“I didn’t care about any of the politics, any of the social, cultural aspects, at first. I immediately thought just of the family dynamic and component, and the value of what was just ripped from all of them forever in a picosecond.”
Sheen è stato intervistato sul podcast di Joe Rogan Experience quando la notizia è arrivata che Kirk era stato girato mentre parlava alla Utah Valley University il 10 settembre.
Kirk è stato portato di corsa in un ospedale locale ma alla fine è morto all’età di 31 anni.
