Rian Johnson vuole tornare a “Star Wars”.
Il 51enne regista Helmed “Star Wars: Episodio VIII del 2017-The Last Jedi” e da allora si è trasferito a realizzare i suoi film di omicidio nella serie “Knives Out”, anche se Johnson ha ora rivelato che spera di rivisitare la galassia molto, lontana in futuro.
Quando l’indipendente ha chiesto al regista come si sarebbe sentito a fare più foto di “Star Wars”, ha detto: “Sono concentrato su come fare altre cose. Ma ciò non escluderà che accadesse lungo la linea.
“If I get back in the ‘Star Wars’ universe someday, I’d be the happiest person.”
Nel 2017, è stato annunciato che Johnson avrebbe guidato la sua trilogia di “Star Wars”, anche se da allora ci sono stati pochi aggiornamenti sul progetto.
Johnson sta attualmente lavorando al suo terzo film “Knives Out”, “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery”, che vedrà il ritorno del detective Benoit Blanc di Daniel Craig per risolvere il suo caso più pericoloso di sempre.
Guardando al futuro, Johnson – che ha guidato la serie “Knives Out” dal suo debutto nel 2019 – ha dichiarato di essere aperto a continuare il franchise su “Wake Dead Man”, “as long as Daniel still wants to keep doing it”.
Quando Collider ha chiesto al regista se ci sarebbero stati più film di “colti”, ha detto: “Finché Daniel vuole ancora continuare a farlo e fintanto che abbiamo un’idea che, per noi, non si sente proprio come fare un altro fuori, ma si sente sinceramente eccitante e spaventoso come” Oh, wow, potremmo staccarlo? ”
“I love the genre. It’s endlessly malleable, and so it holds endless possibilities. But at the same time, I have made three of them in a row. I don’t feel burnt out on it at all, but the next thing I have in my head to write is an original that’s not a mystery at all.”
Johnson ha aggiunto che il genere misterioso era “totally different” Dagli altri perché “encompasses so many other types of genres”.
Ha spiegato: “It’s a totally different genre. One of the things I love about the mystery genre is that it holds the whodunit. Like sci-fi, it encompasses so many other types of genres.”

Ha detto: “‘Wake Up Dead Man’, this next movie, is so different from, ‘Glass Onion’. It’s like night and day. And so, as long as we keep doing that, it’s exciting.”
