Teyana Taylor sta cercando di non lasciarsi coinvolgere troppo dalle chiacchiere che la circondano in questa stagione di premi.
La star di Una battaglia dopo l’altra ha già vinto un Golden Globe come migliore attrice non protagonista per la sua interpretazione, e si prevede che ripeterà il suo successo ai prossimi BAFTA, Actor Awards e Oscar nel prossimo mese.
Mentre Teyana ha avuto persone all’orecchio che glielo dicevano “get ready” per la premiazione, la cantante/attrice cerca di non farsi prendere troppo dalle chiacchiere.
“It’s so crazy, because I don’t like to jinx it. I get so shy when everybody starts talking about award season and stuff,” ha detto a Vanity Fair.
Ricordando come l’hanno trattata i suoi co-protagonisti di All’s Fair, Teyana ha condiviso, “Being with Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close and Naomi Watts and Niecy Nash and Kim Kardashian, it’s like, they’re all in my ear. Like, ‘You better get ready, you gotta get ready.’ I’m like, oh my God. I try not to get my head too wrapped around me, just trying to stay grounded and not getting to a place where I’m obsessed with the outcome.”
Oltre al film acclamato dalla critica One Battle After Another di Paul Thomas Anderson, con Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn e Benicio Del Toro, il trentacinquenne ha recentemente recitato nel thriller The Rip con Matt Damon e Ben Affleck, e nello show televisivo legale di Ryan Murphy All’s Fair.
Teyana ha notato una differenza nel lavorare su quei due set dominati dagli uomini “protective” co-protagonista con “big brother energy” al “chatty” set dominato dalle donne di All’s Fair.
“When you’re on set with all girls, you have the group chat, and it’s like, chatty, and we’re just having a ball,” ha elogiato il candidato all’Oscar. “Our group chat is just so lit. And it’s a sisterhood.”
Ha continuato, “We actually really like each other. Some people can’t wait to get off work. Like, we get to work and be like, Oh, we’re done already? All right, well, let’s go to the house and have a slumber party.”
