L’attore di Grey’s Anatomy ed Euphoria è morto il 19 febbraio all’età di 53 anni, meno di 10 mesi dopo aver annunciato che gli era stata diagnosticata la sclerosi laterale amiotrofica (SLA).
La morte di Dane ha scatenato un’ondata di tributi online e i suoi fan hanno raccolto più di 460.000 dollari (340.000 sterline) per la sua famiglia.
Durante un’intervista con Newstalk FM questa settimana, il suo ex co-protagonista in Grey’s Dempsey ha condiviso la sua convinzione che Dane sarebbe stato toccato dalla risposta.
“Eric was so beloved, and I think he would really be so happy to know – and I know a lot of people reached out to him before his passing to keep track – that he was so beloved and is deeply missed,” ha detto il 60enne.
L’intervistatore ha rivelato che sua sorella è morta di recente e Dempsey ha risposto: “I’m sorry for the loss of your sister. It’s very hard when you lose a family member. I lost my father very young, and my mother’s passed. And now several friends in the last year I’ve lost.”

“I was corresponding with him, we were texting, so I spoke to him about a week ago and some friends of ours went in to see him and he was really starting to lose his ability to speak,” ha continuato. “He was bedridden and it was very hard for him to swallow, so the quality of his life was deteriorating so rapidly.”
