Il regista e produttore di Harry Potter, Chris Columbus, ha abbandonato i piani per adattare la commedia di Broadway Harry Potter e la maledizione dell’erede.
Ha condiviso che lo è “gotten so complicated” essere attaccato al mondo magico senza riconoscere o essere implicato nella transfobia di JK Rowling.
In una nuova intervista con The Times, il regista candidato all’Oscar ha detto che sarebbe stata una riunione del genere con il cast originale “impossible” e lo farebbe “never” avere luogo.
La Maledizione dell’erede, ambientata quasi due decenni dopo gli eventi di Harry Potter e i Doni della Morte, segue l’amicizia tra Albus Potter, il figlio risentito di Harry, e il figlio di Draco Malfoy, Scorpius.
“It’s never going to happen,” Columbus ha detto allo sbocco. “It’s gotten so complicated with all the political stuff. Everyone in the cast has their own opinion, which is different from her opinion, which makes it impossible.”
Ha aggiunto, “I haven’t spoken to Miss Rowling in a decade or so, so I have no idea what’s going on with her, but I keep very close contact with Daniel Radcliffe, and I just spoke to him a few days ago. I still have a great relationship with all the kids in the cast.
Earlier this week, Columbus also made it clear he “certamente” doesn’t agree with Rowling, calling her viewpoint “molto triste” and admitting that he likes to “talvolta separano l’artista dall’arte”.
