Jack Osbourne ha ricordato con emozione il momento in cui ha scoperto che suo padre Ozzy Osbourne era morto.
Mercoledì, in un videomessaggio di 16 minuti rivolto ai fan sul suo canale YouTube, il 39enne ha parlato a lungo della morte del rocker dei Black Sabbath.
Jack ha rivelato di essere rimasto nel Regno Unito per una settimana dopo l’ultima esibizione di Ozzy a Birmingham il 5 luglio ed è tornato a casa sua a Los Angeles il 13 luglio. A quel tempo, suo padre lo era “in a good mood” E “happy” e nessuno si aspettava che morisse, nonostante i suoi problemi di salute.
“No one expected it to happen as quickly as it did and when it did. It was not anything that was on our radar,” ha confessato.
Tuttavia, quando bussarono alla sua porta nelle prime ore del 22 luglio, capì che qualcosa non andava.
“I woke up in Los Angeles to a knock on my house door at around 3.45 in the morning. Someone who has worked for my family for about 30 years now was knocking on my door and when I looked through my window and I saw it was him I knew something bad had happened,” ricordò, visibilmente emozionato. “I was informed that my father had passed.”
Il personaggio televisivo ha ricordato di aver vissuto “sadness and pain” E “so many thoughts”incluso un senso di sollievo per il fatto che suo padre “not suffering anymore”.
“I wish he was still here, you know? I wish he was still with us all, but he was having a rough go and I think people saw that at the show,” ha condiviso.
Si è scoperto che la causa della morte di Ozzy era un arresto cardiaco extraospedaliero e un infarto miocardico acuto, con malattia coronarica e morbo di Parkinson con disfunzione autonomica elencati come cause congiunte. Aveva 76 anni.
Jack, che ha immediatamente prenotato un volo per l’Inghilterra, ha aggiunto che c’era “almost a perfection” intorno alla morte del cantante dei Crazy Train perché ha avuto modo di esibirsi un’ultima volta quasi tre settimane prima.
“He got to say goodbye in such a profound way. He got to thank his fans. He got to see his friends he hadn’t seen in such a long time. He got to perform, I mean, there was so much accomplished before the full stop,” ha spiegato.
Parlando a nome della famiglia, Jack ha anche ringraziato i fan di Ozzy per il loro affetto e sostegno.
