Kerry Washington ha spiegato perché legge i commenti sui social media.
Mentre la maggior parte delle celebrità evita di leggere commenti su se stessa online, l’attrice di Scandal ha rivelato che farlo la fa sentire “connected” con i suoi fan sui social media.
“I think it is a really important way to stay connected,” ha detto a InStyle. “I used to (say): ‘I don’t read the comments. I can’t read the comments.’ I don’t know when that changed. Maybe in COVID?”
L’attrice ha aggiunto: “If you don’t read the comments, you’re not in community.”
Kerry ha continuato spiegando che utilizza i social media “express gratitude” e interagire con gli altri.
“I try to engage and be aware of the general tone of stuff and express gratitude and likes at times when I see something that makes me smile,” ha detto alla pubblicazione.
La star ha anche notato che lei e il suo direttore dei social media hanno messo “a lot of thought” in ciò che condivide online perché vuole che la sua pagina sia un luogo di “fun and inspiration” dove può comunicare “things that matter to (her)”.
Altrove nell’intervista, Kerry, sposata con l’attore Nnamdi Asomugha dal 2013, ha parlato della sua decisione di non pubblicare post sui loro figli, Isabelle, 10 anni, e Caleb, otto.
“It was very hard at the beginning,” ha detto. “I’d look at a picture of my kid and send it to my mother: ‘This picture has to be in the world, but I don’t want to post it!’ Our kids get to be who they are, not who the world has decided they are.”
Kerry ha aggiunto che ha anche evitato di condividere foto di lei e di suo marito, spiegando, “I feel like we are more protective of our real truth. That’s not for public consumption.”
