Stephen Colbert ha dichiarato che intende “savour” Gli ultimi nove mesi del Late Show.
A luglio, la CBS ha annunciato che il Late Show sarebbe terminato nel maggio 2026 dopo dieci stagioni, spiegando che questo era “purely a financial decision”.
Parlando nella sala stampa agli Emmy Awards di domenica 2025, dove ha vinto l’Emmy per l’eccezionale serie di talk, il conduttore Colbert ha dichiarato di voler che lo spettacolo a tarda notte si concluda con un massimo.
“I love what we do, and I want to go to work on Tuesday and for the next nine months with these people and work hard to have fun,” Ha dichiarato. “We do the show with each other, we do the show for each other every day.”
Ha aggiunto, “And I have the privilege and responsibility of that day to share with the audience what we did. And I love it.”
Il conduttore del talk show ha notato che vuole “savour” Gli ultimi mesi dello spettacolo.
“And I know it’s coming to the end in May, but I’m going to savour every day of it,” ha detto. “I want to land this plane. Absolutely beautiful. And I got nothing else on my mind.”
Dopo essere stato nominato nella stessa categoria per tre anni consecutivi, Colbert ha incontrato una standing ovation da parte del pubblico mentre ha raccolto il suo premio.
“It was really nice,” Ha detto del caloroso ricevimento. “I’ll tell you this: I came out here a lot when I was a young man looking for work. Uh, winning one of these and having the audience stand up is way better than coming up for pilot season.”
Ha aggiunto, “I was very grateful.”
Colbert ha anche elogiato la sua squadra, riconoscendo il lavoro che si svolge dietro le quinte “really make (the show) possible”.
