Ian Ziering ha spiegato perché gli ci è voluto un anno per rendere omaggio a Shannen Doherty dopo la sua morte.
The Beverly Hills, l’attrice 90210 morì il 13 luglio 2024 a seguito di una lunga battaglia per il cancro. Una serie di co-protagonisti e altri famosi amici hanno espresso il loro dolore poco dopo la notizia, ma Ian è rimasto in silenzio.
Lunedì, Ian – che ha recitato al fianco di Shannen a Beverly Hills, 90210 negli anni ’90 – è salito sui social media per spiegare il suo silenzio.
“When she died a year ago, I didn’t post anything. And yes, some people criticised that,” Ha scritto su Instagram. “To them I say: grief isn’t a performance. It’s personal. Let people grieve how they grieve.”
A Shannen è stato diagnosticato per la prima volta un carcinoma mammario nel 2015. Dopo un periodo di remissione, il cancro è tornato come carcinoma mammario metastatico in stadio 4 e successivamente si è diffuso nel cervello e nelle ossa della stella.
Durante il suo lungo incarico, Ian ha reso omaggio alla forza di Shannen durante la sua malattia e alla profonda perdita che ha provato dopo la sua morte l’anno scorso.
“When I first heard she was sick, we had nearly a decade more with her. And even then, most of the updates sounded less like ‘Shannen’s fighting cancer’ and more like ‘cancer picked the wrong woman.’ That was her way-strong, defiant, take-no-prisoners tough,” Ha ricordato.
“Every time I saw her during those years, she was still Shan-fierce, funny, full of life. That’s why her passing hit me like a freight train. I was shocked. I truly believed she was going to pull off one more miracle.”
Ian ha trascorso del tempo con molti dei loro compagni di Beverly Hills, 90210 co-protagonisti da quando Shannen, 53 anni, è morto e hanno tutti sentito profondamente la sua assenza.
“That kind of loss doesn’t fade. It just rearranges the furniture in your heart,” Ha condiviso.
La star di 61 anni ha continuato a discutere della sua amicizia con Shannen, poiché ha ammesso che la coppia si era spesso scontrata a causa del loro “strong personalities”ma con il passare degli anni avevano “mellowed” E “understood what we’d been a part of”.
Ha descritto la defunta attrice come “beautiful chaos” e ha insistito che ha perso Shannen dalla sua morte.
“So, my dear Shannen – I think of you often. Your grit. Your fire. Your kind heart that so few really got to see. I still carry all of it with me. Rest easy, Shan,” Ha concluso.
