Jennifer Kaytin Robinson si sente “proud” del “swings” Ha preso con lo so cosa hai fatto l’estate scorsa.
Il regista 37enne ha guidato il nuovo film Slasher e Jennifer non ha alcun rimpianto per il suo approccio al progetto.
Ha detto a The Hollywood Reporter: “I unfortunately know that not everyone is going to like this because we took swings. But I’m really proud of those swings, and what I hope is that even if you don’t like it, you can be like, ‘Huh, cool swing.'”
Jennifer insiste che non è infastidita dalle critiche al suo film o al suo approccio al franchise.
Ha spiegato: “People are going to have thoughts and feelings and opinions, and that’s not a negative.”
Jennifer accoglie in realtà tutto ciò che stimola le conversazioni e accende l’immaginazione dei giovani.
Il regista ha citato i Sinners di Ryan Coogler e The Materialists di Celine Song come due film recenti che hanno suscitato l’interesse del pubblico.
Ha spiegato: “Having discourse, good or bad, it doesn’t really matter, just talk about [movies] and make them feel like they have a place in culture. Everybody wants to be a part of culture.”
Jennifer ha anche incoraggiato “indie-leaning filmmakers” per fare film più commerciali.
Il regista ha detto: “I want there to be more filmmakers, especially indie-leaning filmmakers, who want to and are excited about and understand the assignment of commerciality and making commercial films. They can still feel original but are meant to be commercial. And I want studios to bring up filmmakers so that we can find that middle again. I miss the middle.”

E l’attrice di 46 anni – che ha recitato nell’originale, so cosa hai fatto la scorsa estate nel 1997 – ha recentemente rivelato che può ancora relazionarsi con la versione adolescenziale di se stessa, anche se ha sperimentato così tanto nella sua vita.
Alla domanda se si sente ancora connessa alla versione di 18 anni, Jennifer ha detto a The Hollywood Reporter: “Sì, lo faccio. Molto.
“È interessante che tu lo chieda. Ho sicuramente avuto una perdita di innocenza e trauma nella mia vita. Alcuni dei miei amici non lo fanno [feel this way]ma mi sento ancora in modo univoco connesso alla mia giovinezza e chi ero allora. La porto con me, e questa è una cosa importante da fare man mano che invecchi.
“When you lose that, you lose something very drastic. So I still feel very connected to that part of my life, for sure.”
Jennifer ha anche ammesso che tornare al franchise horror l’ha fatta “a little jumpier”.
La star del film ha detto: “I left that behind for a while, and now I’m definitely like, ‘What was that!?’ I’m a little jumpier now that the movie is back in my life.”
