Angela Bassett ha espresso la sua speranza di poter ispirare la prima presidente femminile negli Stati Uniti.
La star di 66 anni può essere vista interpretare il presidente degli Stati Uniti Erika Sloane nel film di successo Mission: Impossible-The Final Recking quest’estate, e ha anche interpretato il presidente Evelyn Mitchell nella serie Zero della serie Netflix.
Bassett, che è stato nominato all’Oscar due volte, spera che una donna venga votata presto in carica negli Stati Uniti un giorno.
Ha detto alla gente, “Whenever I’m portraying them, I’m hoping and waiting for the day where life will imitate art. We’re not there yet, obviously.”
Ha continuato, “Maybe (it’s) for some people to see representation. We always talk about that idea of seeing yourself in film and theatre, seeing what’s possible, human interaction.

Last November, Bassett took to Instagram to share a photograph of herself with her husband and their children at the voting booth in the hope of seeing Harris elected.
