Naomi Campbell ha condiviso la sua convinzione di essere spesso “misunderstood” dai suoi critici.
La top model di 55 anni è sotto i riflettori da quando aveva solo otto anni, apparendo in un video musicale di Bob Marley prima di trovare fama come modello.
Mentre la stella è indiscutibilmente uno dei nomi più celebri della moda, ha disegnato titoli indesiderati nel corso degli anni.
Tuttavia, ha insistito sul fatto che la sua reputazione diva è ingiustificata, dicendo a Dazed, “That’s where Geminis are misunderstood, but we are the ultimate communicators and connectors.”
Ha continuato, “I can’t please everybody. All that I do is transparent, and I am very loyal to the people I love. I care about the people I love. I value my long relationships.”
Campbell conta Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista e Cindy Crawford tra i suoi amici e dice che non distribuisce leggermente l’etichetta.
Ha detto, “In friendships, I don’t have time for the word ‘frivolous’. I don’t associate with that word, it’s not who I am. When I care, I care… but don’t mistake my kindness for weakness.”
L’icona della passerella, che è madre di una figlia e un figlio che sono arrivati rispettivamente nel 2021 e nel 2023, ha anche detto che spera di infondere i suoi valori nei suoi figli.
Ha detto, “I want to pass on the inner strength, the discipline. Pass on the things that were shared with me from my grandmother, my aunts and my mother. The most important thing for me is for my kids to be happy.”
