Stephen Dorff ha aperto una collaborazione inaspettata in cui ha preso parte con una rock band iconica.
L’attore americano di 51 anni è noto soprattutto per aver recitato in film tra cui il backbeat biografico dei Beatles, la Marvel Film Blade e l’Ofia Coppola da qualche parte.
La scorsa settimana, i fan della musica sono rimasti sorpresi quando l’iconica band glam -rock The Darkness ha pubblicato il loro ultimo album – con la voce di Dorff con prominente su una delle tracce.
La star di Hollywood offre un monologo durante una traccia chiamata Weekend a Roma sull’album Dreams on Toast.
Condividendo il suo apprezzamento per il credo in una cosa chiamata Love Singers, Dorff ha detto Classic Rock, “I know their music from way back.
“Pensavo fossero una grande rock band con la voce e il talento di Justin (Hawkins, Singer) e il folle senso dell’umorismo. Mi piacciono molte band fuori dall’Inghilterra ma l’oscurità aveva un bordo.”
And explaining how the collaboration came to be, he revealed, “Ero a Londra per qualcosa, e ho finito per uscire dallo studio di Dan (Hawkins, chitarrista) in cui stavano registrando l’album. Stavano facendo il fine settimana a Roma e mi hanno chiesto se volevo farlo.
“Justin was writing these words while we were there: ‘Can you say this, can you say it like this?’ They got me on a couple of other songs too, but I think Weekend In Rome is the one that worked best, so that’s the one they kept.”
Ha aggiunto, “Justin was saying: ‘Just think of it as a dream, you’re on an aeroplane and you’re kind of sleepy and sad.’ He’s got a crazy brain and he’s such a great writer, and he kept giving me all of these great lines.”
