Il fratello di Ghislaine Maxwell, Ian Maxwell, ha criticato la famiglia reale per il trattamento riservato ad Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
In seguito all’arresto dell’ex principe, Maxwell ha parlato al The Telegraph dei suoi pensieri sulla situazione.
“There he is, kicked out of his home, completely isolated and unlike Ghislaine, he doesn’t even have a supportive family; even his daughters are at sixes and sevens about what to do.”
Mountbatten-Windsor è stato arrestato dalla polizia della Thames Valley la settimana scorsa nel giorno del suo 66esimo compleanno, con l’accusa di cattiva condotta in una carica pubblica. È accusato di aver condiviso informazioni riservate con il finanziere e trafficante sessuale caduto in disgrazia Jeffrey Epstein mentre agiva come inviato commerciale del Regno Unito dal 2001 al 2011.
“You have to note, he hasn’t been charged with any sort of sexual offence,” Maxwell continuò parlando dell’ex duca di York. “And the police will have looked really hard for evidence. Look, he’s a single man, and what he did or didn’t do with various women was sleazy, humiliating for him and embarrassing for the royals.”
Maxwell ha difeso strenuamente sua sorella, insistendo sul fatto che Ghislaine lo fosse “a scapegoat for the dreadful crimes perpetrated by Jeffrey Epstein”.
Ghislaine è stata condannata a 20 anni di prigione nel 2022 dopo essere stata giudicata colpevole di accuse federali di crimini sessuali. Lei sostiene la sua innocenza.
“My sister is the fall guy,” Maxwell ha insistito. “Somebody had to pay the price for what Epstein did, and so the government and the media chose her. I genuinely believe that if Epstein were alive, he would be incarcerated and she would be free.”
Maxwell si è descritto come Ghislaine “de facto spokesman” ma ha detto che anche il resto della potente famiglia Maxwell è favorevole.
“We’re all supporting her in various ways. Loyalty is very, very strong in our family,” Maxwell ha sottolineato.
