Meghan Trainor ha scoperto la passione per la recitazione mentre girava il suo piccolo ruolo nel nuovo programma televisivo di Ryan Murphy, The Beauty.
Nello spettacolo body horror, la cantante di All About That Bass interpreta Brittany, una dipendente della Condé Nast che sta mangiando nella mensa quando viene violentemente aggredita da qualcuno che ha preso il farmaco The Beauty per sembrare più attraente.
Durante un’apparizione sul podcast ufficiale di The Beauty, Trainor ha ammesso di aver visto la sua breve sequenza di apertura “about 30 times so far” perché non riesce a superare il fatto di recitare in quella scena.
“As soon as we watched the trailer, I was like, ‘I caught the bug… I get it, I love this, I want to be in a trailer, this is the coolest thing ever.’ I’ve heard my songs in trailer but I’ve never seen my face acting in a trailer and I was like, ‘I’m obsessed, I love it,'” ha condiviso.
“This is a dream come true. This is the coolest thing I’ve ever done… I just walked by Ashton (Kutcher) and he said I was hilarious and I was like, ‘Stop it!’ I’m pinching myself every day and I’m so grateful and I’m so excited just to be invited.”
Meghan ha rivelato che la squadra di Murphy l’ha contattata e le ha suggerito di fare un provino per la parte, e ha lavorato con l’insegnante di recitazione di suo marito Daryl Sabara per prepararsi prima di aggiungerla. “little flair” E “some improv stuff”.
La 32enne, che ha diversi ruoli di doppiatrice al suo attivo, ha aggiunto di sì “always had the fire and want” diventare un attore e spera che The Beauty porti a maggiori opportunità.
“My team was like, ‘Oh my God, this is going to open so many doors.’ So I hope it does,” ha detto. “I hope I get some auditions coming in and I’m gonna just try my very best ‘cause I know acting is really a tough place to get into.”
The Beauty, che va in onda settimanalmente su Hulu e Disney+, vede nel cast anche Kutcher, Evan Peters e Anthony Ramos.
