Walton Goggins si è rivolto all’ondata di fan paragonando il suo aspetto a quello del Grinch.
L’attore ha raggiunto un nuovo livello di riconoscimento mainstream quest’anno dopo aver recitato nella terza stagione di The White Lotus della HBO.
Ma man mano che la sua fama cresceva, Goggins si ritrovò oggetto di giocosi paragoni con il personaggio verde che odia il Natale del dottor Seuss.
Recentemente si è dedicato allo scherzo, assumendo il ruolo del Grinch in Who Knew? campagna natalizia, ambientata nel mondo festoso di WhoKnewVille.
Parlando con People, la star di The Righteous Gemstones lo ha detto “laughed it off” Quando “over the course of the last year of my life, and some articles that have come out or some pictures that were taken, a number of people said, ‘Walton Goggins as the Grinch?'”
Goggins ha ammesso che da allora ha iniziato ad accettare i paragoni.
“You can never really know until you step into those shoes, I suppose, into those green furry shoes, and really look at yourself,” scherzò. “I thought, ‘You know what? Okay, I do kind of look like the Grinch.'”
Nella rivisitazione di Walmart del classico racconto, Mindy Lou Who si allea con il Grinch per fare affari con i residenti di WhoKnewVille.
L’attore ha confessato che inizialmente era nervoso all’idea di interpretare “one of the most iconic characters in literature”.
“My laughter immediately went to an extraordinary amount of anxiety,” ha detto allo sbocco. “‘Oh, my God, how can I? How do I pull this off?’ But we did, and I had the time of my life.”
Riflettendo su come ha trovato la sua versione del personaggio, Goggins ha notato che tutto ha funzionato una volta che la squadra dei truccatori ha applicato una protesi al naso.
“As soon as they put that on, I knew exactly who my Grinch was,” ha spiegato.
