Miley Cyrus ha ammesso di aver partecipato agli Academy Awards 2025 per poter proporre le canzoni originali ai registi.
In un’intervista per People pubblicata domenica, la cantante-attrice ha raccontato di aver accettato l’invito alla premiazione a Los Angeles a marzo per avere la possibilità di socializzare con i registi.
“No, literally, that’s why I went to the Oscars this year,” ha detto allo sbocco. “Everybody that came up and introduced themselves, I said, ‘Well, if you need any music, I’m around.'”
Miley ha continuato notando che la stessa strategia l’ha portata a contribuire con la canzone Dream as One alla colonna sonora di Avatar: Fire and Ash.
L’ex star di Hannah Montana ha ricordato come si è avvicinata al regista James Cameron dopo essere stati premiati come Disney Legends al D23 Expo nel 2024.
“I kind of throw it out there as I always do. I already knew the answer to, ‘So what have you been up to?’ I know he’s been up to Avatar for a very long time,” ha ricordato il 33enne. “(I said), ‘Just lemme know if you ever need any music.’ It just kind of organically happened. James actually calls us ‘Legends in law.'”
A ottobre, Miley ha annunciato di aver co-scritto il brano Dream as One con Andrew Wyatt, Mark Ronson e Simon Franglen per il terzo capitolo della serie cinematografica.
La canzone appare nei titoli di coda di Avatar: Fire & Ash, che ora è nei cinema.
