Issa Rae ha chiarito un malinteso comune sulla sua personalità.
L’attrice e scrittrice ha rivelato che non è così estroversa come potrebbero pensare i suoi fan.
In una recente intervista con Essence, Issa ha spiegato che spesso le ci vuole un po ‘per uscire dal suo guscio.
“People assume that I’m like the life of a party when I’m just really so quiet and I have to be comfortable in my zone,” Ammette la stella insicura. “People have developed this like, ‘You know how to party personality’ and I’m like, ‘Oh, no. I’m literally still an awkward Black girl. I just got to be comfortable.'”
Issa, che ha ricevuto per la prima volta l’attenzione per la sua serie Web imbarazzante Black Girl, ha detto alla pubblicazione che mantiene l’equilibrio nella sua vita “tuning out” il mondo.
“I think it’s good and bad, but tuning out like so many other people are, and just focusing on literally the things that do bring me joy and finding inspiration in the little things,” Ha spiegato il 40enne.
“For me, my work is an escape and I’m fortunate enough to be able to tune it out and just figure out how to help in my own community in my own ways,” ha continuato. “And that’s the only way that I’m able to stay kind of sane.”
Issa sta promuovendo il suo ultimo progetto, uno dei loro giorni, con Keke Palmer e SZA. La commedia, prodotta Issa, uscirà nei cinema del Regno Unito il 7 marzo.
