Jennifer Garner ha fatto un raro commento sul suo divorzio da Ben Affleck.
L’attrice di The Last Thing He Told Me e l’attore-regista si sono sposati dal 2005 fino alla definitiva separazione nell’ottobre 2018.
L’ex coppia ha tre figli: Violet, 20, Fin, 17, e Samuel, 13.
Riflettendo sulla rottura in un’intervista di copertina per la rivista Marie Claire, Jennifer ha offerto alcuni spunti al riguardo “hard” esperienza.
“You have to be smart about what you can and can’t handle, and I could not handle what was out there. But what was out there was not what was hard,” disse, indicando la distanza. “The fact of it is what was hard. The actual breaking up of a family is what was hard. Losing a true partnership and friendship is what was hard.”
Jennifer ha continuato notando che non lo considerava un “sacrifice” fare un passo indietro rispetto a Hollywood quando i suoi figli erano piccoli.
“It was really hard to go to work and it definitely shaped the jobs I chose, in a big way,” ha continuato il 53enne.
Inoltre, l’ex star di Alias ha parlato di cosa vuol dire essere genitore di un adolescente e di un giovane adulto.
“Parenting now has shifted. It’s more about parenting with a button on my mouth… You have to let them grow up and make their (own) choices. You don’t get to control it,” ha aggiunto, sottolineando come sta “proud of how they walk through the world, and proud of them for trying hard”.
Jennifer sta attualmente promuovendo la seconda stagione di The Last Thing He Told Me, che sarà presentato in anteprima su Apple TV il 20 febbraio.
